Keya Wingfield, Founder Keya’s Snacks
I’m a pastry chef. When I moved to the US from Mumbai India, I didn’t know what an oven looked like. I went to culinary school, and guess what? They asked me back to teach. After culinary school I started my custom desserts company, and guess what? It’s still going strong. In 2021 I was invited by Food Network to participate in their very competitive Baking Championship, and guess what? I won. Oh yeah and now I really know what an oven looks like.
And then came COVID. I shifted to making modern Indian American to-go meals. With every meal, I added a little bag of Bombay chips originally created for my caucasian husband. A week later people started ordering just the chips! And THEN word got out and retailers came calling!
Hi, I’m Keya!
I am on a mission to desegregate the way we consume food
by recognizing culture and creating space for representation.
Originally from Bombay but I’ve lived in the US long enough to know that the chip aisle needs to be as diverse as America. So I made these chips. They are the very first of their kind in their flavor category and also the first of many more exciting snacks to come from us!
